I cannot reach anyone at Verizon since the stores are closed due to COVID-19 and I have had no success through their websites. Any source(s) you can provide me so I began to use this gift from my wife?

You can get a GSM SIM card from Consumer Cellular for $10.00. I dumped Verizon years ago.
Tried installing Golden Tee Mobile and it would not. Device incompatible message comes up
